The Manic in Mind and the City of Baie-Comeau showcase the musical talent Manicoise
In Week of the Family of the City of Baie-Comeau, night skiing at Mont Ti-low of Friday, March 6, innovated this year by showcasing a group of young musicians from the RCM.
Group 4-Time was created in 1996 with the versatility of Bays in Baie-Comeau. United by a passion for music out of the ordinary, the three members of 4-Time: Simon Langlois, Alexandre Dumont and Benedict Desrosby have developed a particular interest in jazz.
Encouraged by their music teacher Jacques Lévesque, they have during their stay in high school, their art regularly broadcast on locally, and beyond. Indeed, during these travels, the group took the opportunity to earn the honors: first place Festival of Bands of Sherbrooke, 1st place at the Jazz Fest in St. Hubert and a 1st place at the prestigious Gateway Festival of Music in New York .
Since their departure from Baie-Comeau to their music studies in 1999 in three different colleges located in three different cities, the trio did not have many opportunities to meet. Each member now working as a freelance professional musician and music teacher. Always driven the same uncommon passion is with great pleasure that the trio will meet on March 6 in his hometown in order to deliver a concert of jazz and funk at Mont Ti-Basse.
Drummer Simon Langlois native of Pointe-Lebel began playing drums at the age of 10. It operates as a freelance drummer since the age of 18 ans.Il, among other, shared the stage with jazz band Alain Caron, Michel Cusson, all electric jazz Yannick Rieu and the scene popular with Marilou Garou, the 3 agreements, Kim Richardson and Stef Bet.e etc. ...
Alexandre Dumont was born in Falls aux Bustards. He studied piano at the University Laval, first by performing classical and in jazz and popular music. Pianist / keyboardist / arranger, Alexander worked in the musical landscape of the region of Quebec for the past decade, both as a jazz musician in the context of major corporate events.
Desrosby Benedict was born in Baie-Comeau. He moved to Montreal in 1999 to undertake studies in electric bass at the Cégep de Saint-Laurent. He graduated on December 1 and continued his studies at the University of Toronto Jazz Performance, Jazz Bass Electric, where he earned a bachelor. He plays Montreal's music scene for over ten years. It has been heard with groups specializing in a multitude of different musical styles (jazz, folk, pop, alternative and heavy metal). He has performed on several stages throughout the province of Quebec, making him an artist of growing demand. He specializes in Jazz and Blues in and performs about 100 shows per year.
It is with great pleasure that the City of Baie-Comeau and the Manic in Mind combine to present this free jazz show at Chalet du Mont Ti-Basse, Friday, March 6, 2009 from 21:00. Night skiing takes place 19: 0:00 to 0:00. Access to the slope is free and the rental of equipment are reduced.
